I am Canadian and we are having our Federal election on Monday. Watching the tyranny unfold in USA could not be more prescient. Our main goal is to stay Canadian, as we have always been. We too, have a present threat to that goal.

Elbows up, both here and across the border🇨🇦🇺🇸

Thank you for this perspective. It’s sobering—and encouraging—to hear voices across the border who recognize the warning signs. Tyranny rarely arrives all at once; it erodes institutions slowly, by punishing those who stand in its way. I’m wishing you and your country strength and vigilance in your election. We’re all in this fight to preserve the rule of law together.

It is. And what makes it even more dangerous is how quietly it’s happening—under the appearance of legal procedure, not open lawlessness. That’s why it’s so important to name it clearly and refuse to normalize it.

The longer this goes on, I guarantee will see the female Democract Supreme Court Justices arrested, as well.

I hope it doesn’t come to that, but you’re touching on the real fear here: once the government normalizes punishing judges for upholding constitutional limits, no branch of law or political leaning is safe. Today it’s one judge. Tomorrow it could be anyone who stands between power and its ambitions. That’s why it’s so urgent to confront it now.

Hard to believe this is all happening. So disturbing and frustrating not knowing what to do to stop it. Thank you for using your voice through words to expose what is going on and keep these injustices top of mind.

Thank you for this. It can feel overwhelming, but staying clear-eyed and refusing to look away is already a form of resistance. Speaking the truth, defending the institutions that matter, and refusing to accept injustice as “normal”—that’s how it begins. I’m grateful you’re part of that effort.
